DNS Change Request

Please enter the changes for the DNS/Zone file below. Requests are usually processed within 24 hours after submission. An e-mail confirmation will be sent to you once the changes have been completed. Follow the steps below in order to ensure a proper and accurate modification to your DNS/Zone file.

Please follow the steps below to ensure a proper and accurate modification to your DNS/Zone file.

  1. Please enter the domain name that you wish to submit changes for.

  2. Enter the name that you want to modify under Domain Name field.
    (ie. mail.domain.com, subdomain.domain.com)

  3. Select Type under the drop down.
    MX = Mail exchange record. An MX record is used to point e-mail for the domain name to a specific mail server. Any priorities should be entered into the Record Data field. (ie. "domain.com MX 50 mail.domian.com")
    A = Address record. An A Record is a machine name that points to an IP address. (ie. domain.com A 209.111.111.111)
    CNAME = Alias for Canonical name: maps an alias to an existing machine name. (ie. domain.com CNAME ftp.domain.com)
    NS = Nameserver record. Used to signify the nameservers for a domain.
    PTR = Pointer record. A PTR Record is used to point to an IP address to a machine name. (PTR Records are only used in reverse in-addr.arpa DNS/Zone files)

  4. Enter the actual IP address of the physical machine on the internet in the Record Data field. Or if this is a CNAME record, enter in the machine that the alias should poin to.
